Data Privacy Policy

This policy (Policy) describes the information that Plus U, Inc. (PU) processes to support PU's apps (CocoPPa Play (CCPL).) (the Apps). References in this Policy to "we" or "our" are references to PU but a partner of PU may be included.

This Policy is applicable to you if you reside in the European Union. If you do not reside in the European Union please refer to the separate policy in regards to how your data is protected http://www.cocoppaplay.com/privacy/(CCPL).

What category of information do we collect about you?

To provide the Apps and their related functionality to you, we must process information about you. The type of information that we collect depends on how you use the Apps.

Information that you and others provide

•Registration Information: Information you put in to register and create the account to use the Apps, such as your name, email address, UID and your country.

•Communication Function Information: Information you provide using the function of the Apps (including those processed by the function of the Apps) in the course of your usage of the Apps including the profile information, comments and messages.

•Data Migration Information: Information necessary to migrate the data when you change your smartphone.

•Communication Related Information:  Information communicated in the course of the communication between you and us, including your name, email address,OS version and UID.

Special category data that you provide: It is not necessary to provide special category data for your usage of the Apps and we do not request any special category data from you. However, you may choose to disclose special category data, such as information about your health, sexual preference, religious views, political views, racial or ethnic origin, philosophical beliefs, by way of the manner in which you choose to use the Apps. This special category information is subject to special protections under EU law.

How do we use this information?

PU uses the information that it has collected about you to provide and support the Apps and as described below.

To provide the Apps

PU uses the information it has to deliver the Apps, including to personalise features and content and make suggestions to you. The provision of the Apps includes the provision of the data migration function.

To communicate with you: We use the information that we have to communicate with you about the Apps and let you know about our policies and terms of use. We also use your information to respond to you when you contact us.

Security: We use the information that we have to verify accounts and activity, combat harmful conduct, detect and prevent spam and other bad experiences, maintain the integrity of the Apps, and promote the safety and security of the Apps. For example, we use data that we have to investigate suspicious activity or breaches of the terms of use with you (or any other individual) for the use of the Apps (the Terms of Use) our Terms of Use or our applicable policies (including this Policy) (Policies).

Improvement and Enhancement: PU uses the information we have to develop, test and improve the Apps, including by conducting surveys and research, and testing and troubleshooting new products and features and collecting error reports that are transmitted by the Apps.

How do we share your information?

Account Information

Your profile name and photo may be available to anyone who uses the Apps, although you can configure your Services settings to manage certain information available to other users.

New owner

If the ownership or control of all or part of the Apps changes, we may transfer your information to the new owner in order to ensure the continuity of the services and functionality.

Sharing with third-party partners

We work with third-parties (Partners) who help us to provide and to improve the Apps. We do not sell any of your information to anyone. We also impose strict restrictions on how our partners can use and disclose the data we provide.

Here are the types of third parties that we share information with:

Partners who provide information technology service: PU uses AWS provided by Amazon, and G-suite provided by Google and the data are transferred in this relation.

Partner who provide customer support service: We consign the customer support service of CCPL and CCPD to Wit One Corporation and your data is transferred in this relation. Wit One Corporation’s privacy policy is available here: https://www.wit-one.co.jp/privacy/

Children

Children under the age of 13 are not allowed to create an account or otherwise use the services. Additionally, if you are in the EEA, you must be over the age required by the laws of your country to create an account or otherwise use the services, or we need to have obtained verifiable consent from your parent or legal guardian.

How you can exercise your rights provided under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, port and delete your data and the right to object to and restrict certain processing of your data.

Data retention and deletion

PU stores your information until it is no longer necessary to provide our services and the Apps. However, even within such period, PU is willing to delete your personal data upon your request. We also retain information from accounts that are disabled due to a breach of our Terms of Use for at least a period of one year to prevent repeat abuse or other term breaches.

You may delete your account information at any time from the user preferences page. When you delete your account, your profile is no longer visible to other users and disassociated from content you posted under that account. Please note, however, that the posts, comments, and messages you submitted prior to deleting your account will still be visible to others unless you first delete the specific content. We may also retain certain information about you as required by law or for legitimate business purposes after you delete your account.

PU's response to lawful requests or to prevent harm

PU accesses, preserves and shares your information with regulators, law enforcement or others: in response to a legal request, if we have a good-faith belief that the law requires us to do so and in case such is necessary to prevent harm.

How we operate and transfer data as part of our global services

Information controlled by PU will be transferred or transmitted to, or stored and processed in Japan, or other countries outside where you live for the purposes as described in this Policy. These data transfers are necessary to provide the services set out in the Terms of Use and to provide the Apps and their functionality to you on a worldwide basis. We rely on the European Commission's adequacy decisions about certain countries, as applicable, for data transfers from the EEA to Japan and other countries.

How will PU notify you of changes to this Policy

PU will notify you before it makes changes to this Policy and give you the opportunity to review the revised Policy before you choose to continue using the Apps.
